FROM THE JJAMD FOUNDATION CO-FOUNDERS AND CO-PRESIDENTS

We at JJAMD understand the struggle that you are undergoing.  TemporoMandibular Muscle and Joint Disorder
[TMJD] can be a debilitating multifaceted medical-dental health condition, and it’s often difficult to find adequate support, diagnosis, treatment, and needed health insurance coverage for you.  We have made it our mission to change this to benefit all.

In our role of advocating on your behalf, we are continually struggling to--not only raise awareness--but to also cultivate research that will revolutionize our care.

This past year, The Forsyth Institute announced a Fellowship, which honors the work we have done to promote advocacy, awareness, and education, of TMJD to the American Public, and hope and help to this large disadvantaged patient population. Forsyth’s world-class scientists, already heavily engaged in genetic and molecular science, will provide mentoring of the Postdoctoral Fellows. This will assure quality, independent, innovative, and peer-reviewed research. This is a major breakthrough, and an opportunity to break the logjam of heretofore unproven scientific research. Only appropriate scientific research will, once and for all, create an understanding of TMJD as a whole-body medical problem  We invite  you to join us in this worthy cause, please consider supporting the Fellowship. Go to our website:  www.TMJoints.org.  Click the box:  Glass-TMJD PostDoctoral Research Fellowship to make a donation. Or  you may go to Forsyth’s website:  www.forsyth.org, click on the appropriate box.

JJAMD is a member of the National Institutes of Health TMJD Interagency Working Group.  We will participate in the Group’s September 15th meeting in Washington DC to address TMJD issues and research, and to promote the Fellowship.

We hope to announce the first research Fellow over the next few months. We also are working to develop educational events, please check the Web site periodically for news and updates.

To your Good Health and Best regards,
Milton and Renée
