I am also a TMJ sufferer. I first developed the TMJ problem when the dentist took out my wisdom teeth. Before then I was perfectly fine. Then when he took out my wisdom teeth, he held my jaw open too wide and now I have this problem for over ten years. I hate it. I can't open my mouth as wide as I used to. My neck and shoulders get stiff all the time. My ears are constantly popping and I can hear cracking noises in my ear. I have to keep touching my jaw as it cracks all the time. I am wearing a splint at night but what is the point of it? I have been wearing for the past ten years and I am beginning to run out of ideas of how I am going to get better. I am seeing a surgeon in a months time b/c my only other alternative is to get braces on my teeth as I have an overbite, due to the bastard of a dentist, he made a wrong choice and now my front teeth have been moved forward and are crooked due to his error. He didn't take out my wisdom teeth, he took out my existing back ones hoping they would fit. But the wisdom teeth didnt fit, so they pushed my front teeth forward. Now I am paying the price for that bastards mistakes and I have to fork out over $6000 for this treatment. I don't know what to so anymore. Is there any alternative treatments that I can use to alleviate the pain? I can't even give oral sex to my partner and he has left me b/c of my disfunction. Please any advice I would appreciate it so much. Thanks.
